College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning
The College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP) is charged with undergraduate and graduate education in the design, environmental, and art disciplines.
Your support is essential to the continued success of DAAP. Some of DAAP's current funding priorities include student scholarships and fellowships, endowed faculty positions (professorships) and the Dean's Innovation Fund, which provides the Dean and School Directors the flexibility to respond to opportunities as they arise.
Funding Opportunities
The College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) receives annual support from alumni, faculty and friends through gifts to the DAAP Annual Fund. This consistent, ongoing source of funding is essential to the operation and growth of the College.
This fund enables DAAP to maintain and advance its inspired, 24/7 learning environment - most especially the high technology infrastructure that affords our students to lead their professions rather than simply following trends.
Undergraduate Scholarships and Financial Aid
DAAP puts extraordinary efforts into recruiting and retaining the best and brightest students. Though DAAP is currently ranked at the top of its field, it must stay competitive by offering scholarships to top candidates who lack the resources to attend college. By providing them with financial assistance, these students may be able to take co-op positions anywhere in the world.
This fund was established in memory and in honor of colleagues and friends who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the College.
This scholarship fund provides gap funding to assist students in good academic standing with emergencies and short-term financial needs.
Equally compelling is DAAP's need to attract scholars to its graduate programs. Frequently, students seeking advanced degrees are attracted to DAAP's programs and reputation, but are forced to accept positions at universities where graduate scholarships, awards and research opportunities are more generously funded.
What better way to make a difference than to support a student's education and to have your name on their scholarship forever.
DAAP offers a number of naming opportunities, including signature gifts, research and buildings, centers of excellence, endowed chairs, lectureships and fellowships.
The best students are attracted to DAAP because of its outstanding faculty flourishing at the prime of their careers. Each of the four schools is led by professionals nationally recognized for their own contributions to their fields, and who are dedicated to passing their knowledge on to students.
The Carl H. Monzel Professorship of Architecture was established in 2006 by BHDP Architecture to honor the memory of one of DAAP’s finest alumni, Carl H. Monzel, BARC 1975.
